This kitchen!! Oh my word, I've never in my life seen a kitchen that big. 1,500 square feet folks. Did you see the size of those islands?! There is a reason I'm calling this a "dream" home tour!! The cabinetry here (and throughout the home) was designed and built by <a href="http://www.benjaminblackweldercabinetry.com/" target="_blank">Benjamin Blackwelder Cabinetry</a>...he did an amazing job! I'm really loving all of the details here, especially on the cabinetry, metal hood, flooring and ceiling! Definitely not your cookie-cutter kitchen! Love the casual vibe from the assortment of white chairs and bench around the dining table too! <br /><br />Tomorrow we'll head up that beautiful spiral staircase....that spans all <i>four</i> floors. Christmas staples: Buds, twigs, branches and berries

There's nothing like the real thing for Christmas decorating.  You get to go for a little adventure in the woods with your trusty snippers, and come away with a red nose and a trunk full of inspiration.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sometimes you just have to go to your backyard, but there's a limit to happy cutting in a small space. That's where I got the materials for my front porch planters, if you don't count the leftovers from my summer planter and feathers I've recycled several times.   </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOFtjnRqU4uVwzc0cRAtT9dns-uJQVW4UWtPp6jB6iUwRFrekPjZIC1kFP9tadOPm0vPXHST12bnLgoCmUfHcpS3cKyf9mN7tIAxeSuRe3ROoIzPpbG5fg4F000YbqOWPLmUKeaanm_3i6/s1600/close+up+planter_01.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Christmas planter, red dogwood, pine, " border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOFtjnRqU4uVwzc0cRAtT9dns-uJQVW4UWtPp6jB6iUwRFrekPjZIC1kFP9tadOPm0vPXHST12bnLgoCmUfHcpS3cKyf9mN7tIAxeSuRe3ROoIzPpbG5fg4F000YbqOWPLmUKeaanm_3i6/s1600/close+up+planter_01.JPG" title="Christmas staples: Buds, twigs,branches and berries" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div> Hubby made me a trough box for my trunk/ottoman.  I knew what I wanted to put in it, but I couldn't hack away anything else in my yard. their color of the year: Marsala! "A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls." I'm not a big fan of the red-brown color by itself, but I'm loving it paired with rich turquoise/teal hues! Do you approve of Pantone's choice?  <br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.pantone.com/pages/index.aspx?pg=21163" target="_blank"><img alt="https://www.pantone.com/pages/index.aspx?pg=21163" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGL7tiFQGXzJBsi8NZwiEQ7jH_nhuA0lBYE0CMAiIJRNWlw_ECmWkGgKMhyZzscYjeWQaLbFPEU0cz7-T15YXqSMT0Of0xcA8Qlc0XKa_Y4y2Q9C4DxX0fk1NVaHiFuHP747o_H6yxQDA/s1600/Pantone.jpg" /></a></div><br />Read my posts about past Colors of the Year:<br /><br /><center><a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2013/12/2014-pantone-color-of-year-radiant.html" target="_blank"><img alt="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2013/12/2014-pantone-color-of-year-radiant.html" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj348eN9oYaI5hQ4Y0lQ6un6N_M7ct0n8tc7zJ6qRbmAkTkrUHVIME5rfmUoJ-5_wHpUr1AQF-cz7LEAkY5yDi6mC6R6t3vT7goh3EkJcGYmdIxYsF4LCoVhARICvTiGHWad5V38JnTK8k/s1600/2014.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2012/12/2013-pantone-color-of-year-emerald.html" target="_blank"><img alt="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2012/12/2013-pantone-color-of-year-emerald.html" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9KoaYR0l3ppQSpHL9Hsm9AScla5pH8lWjzswbtHKZrWov6vIh_M0QZdgha0fE8M_oLHFR3ER-ncrpB40Io9yLHHGFsowhFr7bqAlHbLkMDqLE2tlo3LFn4K32o0FRBzJr2okbI4X7TnA/s1600/2013.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2011/12/2012-pantone-color-of-year-tangerine.html" target="_blank"><img alt="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2011/12/2012-pantone-color-of-year-tangerine.html" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVal6yicjj2GDhwgjWeV1w19Q6YusZaD60gAOmYw9fGsUHPOZgqbyoIRCCbnmddVX-dtzh9zH0pjlou3t9UmjfzSqY0YNO-WnynpwInnCUVMMuAfLeluejG6Gj0pZG_VKiRDAnuDT1VlY/s1600/2012.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2010/12/color-of-year.html" target="_blank"><img alt="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2010/12/color-of-year.html" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVz9z7KJBWnLkCV9EnC-tDBGJEjkm8AlLM1nMrJ-uWBwWa4NxCFJl6WYINxTbUgMq0szvdGw4J2V4XoXMpGnFz9702XSEoNP6PBxTMo9pIhdVlLF6Mu1v2OmVmoi9INf6Q4UsMKJ5b994/s1600/2011.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2009/12/pantone-color-of-year-for-2010.html" target="_blank"><img alt="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2009/12/pantone-color-of-year-for-2010.html" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk5igv9NeAcSU7J-u4PyOPSDqdc0zgOJ_ufGBPvO3Dj9R4P04ZPvDupimPfKYSw6Tv48o8wv6vKxik_ydnh4kcL8d66QM-LDuhi06UEJ0G_IIRifgv0pbLSUZMPi4UctpK0GtecHn3TTw/s1600/2010.jpg" /></a></center><br />Happy weekend everyone!! :)<br /><br /><br /><span style="font-size: 85%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Love turquoise?
