That's what happened when we got to our condo <a href="http://www.sandpipervacationrentals.com/Unit/Details/66341" target="_blank">"A Sight to Sea"</a> in <a href="http://www.seasidefl.com/" target="_blank">Seaside, Florida</a>! I found it on <a href="http://www.vrbo.com/433475" target="_blank">VRBO</a> and had seen photos and reviews, but was still blown away. It was absolutely adorable, so bright and cheery....and <i>huge</i>!! These photos really don't do the size justice. It was two floors, the master bedroom with huge vaulted ceilings, views of the ocean, a private breezeway that led to a second bedroom...with an outdoor jacuzzi! And there was a washer and dryer! (Super awesome when traveling with a 3 month-old!) We also loved the bathroom–hello steam shower! Then there was a full kitchen, totally stocked with everything we needed, another half bath, and a beautiful balcony overlooking Seaside's famous Central Square. And talk about the perfect location...right across from the beach, right next door and above restaurants and shops. It really was the perfect home away from home for our little family! And since we went during off-season, we got a great deal too! As amazing as all this was, the best part of the trip? I had to confront both questions this week while I was shopping for accessories with my sister.  <br /><br /><h4>Telling it like it is</h4> " Oh, I love that. She can't pass one up without a comment. There was also a liberal smattering of birds when I featured her house at Christmas in this<a href="http://designinghome.blogspot.ca/2013/12/a-nature-inspired-christmas.html"> post.</a>  Must be the result of growing up next to a forest.<br /><br />This obsession is causing me other problems in addition to having just too many of the same thing and not enough surfaces to place them.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: left;">My granddaughter, age 2,  is suddenly sizing up her environment and putting things in the " I likka" or the  "I no likka" category.  Birds are in the "I no likka " camp!   What do I do about that?   If exposure is going to make her more comfortable with our fine feathered friends she's in the right house. The Anna Maria Island, Florida beachfront getaway captured beautifully by Tampa photographer <a href="http://www.minabrinkeyphotography.com/" target="_blank">Mina Brinkey</a> was one heck of a remodel project by the homeowners Missy and Phil Gerardi, who happens to be a <a href="http://www.gerardiconstruction.com/" target="_blank">general contractor</a>. With the help of Katie Gagnon of <a href="http://thebluemoontradingcompany.com/design-services/" target="_blank">Studio Blue Moon</a>, the home was transformed into a casual, kid-friendly home with a sea-inspired palette and vintage touches throughout. I'm so in love with the kitchen!! The retro appliances, glass mosaic backsplash and colorful cookware are delightful!
